Mechanical Engineer - Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth

Role Overview

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong mining and resources experience, particularly across bulk materials handling and minerals processing.

Ideal Candidate

A practical Mechanical Engineer from a mining, minerals processing or bulk materials handling background, with hands-on experience designing conveyors, transfer chutes, slurry and piping systems.

Someone comfortable working across the full project lifecycle and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
• Design conveyors, transfer chutes, slurry and piping systems.
• Undertake DEM modelling and equipment selection.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, designs and technical documentation.
• Collaborate across mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and process disciplines.
• Support project delivery, client relationships and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to risk assessments, HAZOPs and Safety in Design activities.

Key Requirements

• Strong mining and resources engineering background.
• Experience with bulk materials handling, conveyor and transfer chute design.
• Experience with slurry and piping systems.
• Exposure to construction, commissioning or operations.
• Experience across commodities such as iron ore, nickel, gold, copper or coal.
• Strong multidisciplinary engineering and stakeholder management skills.
